More Church Sound Systems

These photo's show how a church sound system should look like and how some churches can be acoustically treated.
Although I have worked on most of these project, the sound system installations were generally done by others.

Here was an example of replacing a cluster with a cluster. The old speaker cluster was not in the sweet spot of the room. When the new speaker system was installed, they had better coverage, echo's from the speaker system eliminated and for the first time, mix for quality, and not quantity.

In 1995, the church spent over $20,000 for acoustical work.

Note
Before the church was built, we were unable to convince the Architect and Church Board how bad the acoustics were going to be. (I hate it when I'm right)
After the church opened, many of the committed church members preferred hearing the worship service from the lobby sound system. Other audio companies tried alternative sound systems and failed. It took 5 years before the church would do any treatment of the sanctuary. After the acoustic treatment was done, not only did our sound system work as planned, but congregational singing, and choral presentations were understood for the first time. Even the Organist and pianist was pleased.

We calculated that if the church had made the Architectural changes when under construction, the costs would have adding only a few thousand dollars. Although the church paid over $20,000 5 years later to fix the room, how do you calculate the money lost from people who left the church because they could not hear.
